Eric Hites cycles through Times Square on Wednesday, having completed at least 244 miles of his 3,200-mile bike journey.
A massive crowd packed into Times Square on Wednesday to cheer on Eric Hites, the self-proclaimed “Fat Guy Across America.”
Hites, 40, pedaled into the city as part of the across-the-country trek he launched to lose weight and win back his wife.
“This is a little weird,” Hites said, staring at the crowd of onlookers and reporters.
“I know now that I can’t stop because if I do, a lot of people will be disappointed,” he added. “Now it’s kind of their thing and I just gotta ride along with it.”

The Indiana man, who weighed 567 pounds in June when he began his journey in Falmouth, Mass., has since biked at least 244 miles and lost 75 pounds.
He’s still a long way from reaching California — but Hites has already accomplished one of his goals.
His once-estranged wife, Angie Marie, joined his 3,200-mile trek last month.
Hites and his wife Angie take a moment to rest before continuing their journey to California.
